So, I find that getting to class is the hardest part. Mostly, once I am there, I’m golden and I don’t think I have ever regretted going to class. So how do I get myself there in the first place?
Well, I have four tricks to make sure that I go to class:
1) Book the class before – commit to actually going and book beforehand or accept the work invite. Having to cancel, send a message to say I can’t come, or even pay a cancellation fee never fails to motivate me!
2) Lay my kit out – If I am going to class in the morning, I lay everything out that I will need. Including undies, socks, my hairbrush, I even put my keep cup near the kettle & my bag near the door! I make it as easy as possible & give myself maximum time in bed. I have it down to an art & can get out of the house in 15mins flat! If I am going in the afternoon or evening, I always pack my kit the night before too, so in my mind I have committed.
3) Go with a friend – I love working out with mates & it is a sure-fire way to get to class. These are great for morning classes as the thought of cancelling when my friend is already awake always kicks my butt. Depending on the friend, if we are going to dinner, I sometimes suggest a class before too.
4) Bribe myself – Sometimes I just use plain old bribery. If it is a single class, I bribe myself with my favourite coffee (sometimes I even go out of the way to get it). Or If I need a boost for the week I will give myself a target, say 5 sessions, & then get myself something I really want, like a new moisturiser.
So, these are my tips & they work for me on a pretty consistent basis. And like I said in my last post, consistency is key! I would love to hear some of your tips & tricks, or if you try any of these let me know how you get on!
